FAQ Q178: How and when are the commissions in PRO-COMM account type calculated?

In PRO-COMM accounts there is no subscription fee but Planyo charges 0.5% - 1.5% of the price shown to the user when making the reservation. The minimum commission is CHF 0.30 for the first 250 reservations in given month, then CHF 0.15 until the 1000th reservation, then CHF 0.07 for the remaining reservations. The commission rate is 1.5% until the total of commissions paid in given month reaches CHF 50, at this moment the commission rate changes to 1% until CHF 200 is reached, and then the rate changes to 0.5% for the rest of the month.

Note that there is a minimum monthly fee of CHF 29. If the total amount in commissions and extension payments in given month does not reach CHF 29, an extra charge will be made at the beginning of the following month.

The reservations that you as the administrator enter into the system are free of charge(*). In order to be able to use the PRO-COMM account type, you need to allow your customers to make valid online bookings. This means that the reservation form must be clearly accessible from your website and the completion of all the required steps of the booking process results in a valid reservation. You must also define pricing so that Planyo has a base for calculating the commission (contact us if not possible).

The commission is deducted from your account credits immediately upon entering a new reservation by your client. Please note that if you run out of credits, you get an email and then have 2 weeks to recharge your account.

If at a later time the client cancels their reservation, the commission is refunded (added back to your credits). If you, as the administrator, cancel user's reservation, the commission is refunded if the cancellation was made within 12 hours of rental's start time and only if you allow Planyo to send cancel notifications to the end customers. In case of modifications to a reservation, the commission amount does not change.

If, after using Planyo for a while, you'd like to switch to the monthly fee-based Planyo PRO, you can always do so in the My Account tab, where you can also add credits to your account and see all charges on your account. This tab also shows you detailed information about the commissions taken for each reservation.

(*) If, after the initial 3 months since the creation of your site, more than 75% of the reservations entered in the previous month have been entered by the administrators, in the month following such month the minimum commission (CHF 0.15 - 0.30; see above) will be charged on admin-entered reservations. This policy will then be re-evaluated after each following month based on the same criterium (75% of admin-entered reservations).

Commission for reservations entered via the API and extensions from the planyo store

Reservations entered through extensions which don't redirect the customer to your website (such as booking.com) are treated as admin-entered reservations. For the extensions where the customer is redirected to your website in order to make the reservation (such as TripAdvisor's TripConnect or STNet) the reservations are treated as customer-entered reservations. Reservations entered via the API are treated in the same way as customer-entered reservations.
